Stay safe around fallen wires

After storms, fallen electricity wires can be deadly. Always assume they are live and dangerous. Do not go near them.

ESB Networks urges everyone to stay vigilant around electricity wires, in the aftermath of Storm Éowyn. Fallen or low-hanging wires, as well as damage to the electricity network, pose an immediate and serious danger.

Generators

Before using a standby generator, please watch this short video. Generators can pose serious risks if not used properly. Ensure proper ventilation, keep generators outdoors, and follow manufacturer's guidelines. Never use them indoors or in enclosed spaces. Remember, a standby generator should never be connected directly to electrical circuits or your metering point. This could endanger you, your neighbours, and ESB Networks’ staff. Generators should always be installed by a registered electrical contractor.
