What is CECRA?
CECRA (Certificate for European Consultants in Rural Areas) is a European soft skills training programme designed for agricultural advisers and consultants working with the farming community. The aim of the programme is to create a standard within advisory skills across Europe and supports participants to improve their advisory and extension techniques.
Teagasc is an approved provider of CECRA training in Ireland.
A range of advisory skills training modules have been developed for an Irish context and are now available for consultants and advisors in Ireland. Modules are designed to enable advisors to deliver high quality extension programmes through advanced facilitation techniques, communication and self-development.
Commenting on the achievement, Dr. Stan Lalor said; “I want to congratulate Marie and Cian on this superb achievement. We are very proud of the fact that they are the first advisors in Europe to be certified in the European CECRA programme. CECRA is now an integral part of our Advisor Professional Development Programme in Teagasc and all advisors are in the process of completing the programme.”
