Teagasc Research Insights Webinars
Beginning in August 2020 we will be running a series of webinars focused on addressing the challenges and opportunities in the agri-food sector and showcasing the latest thinking and Teagasc’s research in these areas.
Our one-hour webinars with Teagasc Researchers are aimed at anyone interested in our research, including professionals in the agriculture and food industry, other researchers, media, farmers, policy makers, EU and other international researchers and professionals.
Our first three webinars will focus on the new EU mission on soil health and food.
Webinar 1: A new mission to improve soil health

Webinar 2: Why we need healthy soils?
Soils are essential for life on earth, providing food, clean water and habitats for biodiversity, contributing to climate resilience and supporting our cultural heritage and landscapes. However, they are threatened by human activities including unsustainable management practices and contamination from industries. Teagasc is currently researching and investigating the physical, chemical and biological properties of Irish soils to gain a better understanding of their interactions and overall health.
Join Teagasc researchers on this webinar to find out more about our research, the health of Irish soils and what we need to do to make them healthier.

Webinar 3: How Soil Organic Carbon Cycling works in Irish Soils?
Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) is a major component of soil organic matter. Increasing the concentration of soil organic carbon increases the absorption of CO2 from the atmosphere and leads to an improvement in soil health. Understanding how this works is a key research and innovation theme at Teagasc.
Join Teagasc researchers on this webinar to find out more about our research and gain a better understanding of organic carbon cycling in Irish soils and its contribution to mitigating climate change.
