Try Horticulture - Virtual Focus on courses


The Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture in the National Botanic Gardens will hold the second of a series of virtual information events on Friday 26th February at 12:30 pm for one hour.

During this session staff from the College will present information on the college courses and answer questions live from the audience.

If you have an interest in pursuing courses in Horticulture at the Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture please log onto the event and we will answer any questions that you may have. Participation will be available through Eventbrite at the following link https://tryhorticulturefebruary2021.eventbrite.ie 

Studying Hort in the National Botanic Gardens

In this month's event, on Friday 26th February, Teagasc College of Amenity Horticulture Try Horticulture event College Principal John Mulhern will be joined by the Director of the Botanic Gardens Dr. Matthew Jebb where the discussion will centre around studying Horticulture in the National Botanic Gardens. This will be a great opportunity to listen to the director first hand and to get an idea of the work that students get involved in during their Horticulture courses that they follow in Glasnevin. Prospective learners will get a chance to ask questions directly about the work that goes on in the NBG in Glasnevin.

Monthly Series

It is hoped that we will have these events repeated each month throughout the first half of the year and as restrictions allow we will endeavor to have face to face engagement with prospective students in the Botanic Gardens and our campus in Ashtown.

The full schedule of courses, promotional events for prospective students is listed below.  These will be Zoom webinars for approximately 1 hour, where staff from the college will speak about the courses, blended learning etc. and take questions from the attendees.  

  • Try Hort 29th January :Focus on Level 7 course and opportunities.
  • Try HORT 26th FEB : Focus on Level 5 course and opportunities.
  • Try Hort 26th March : Focus on Level 6 course and opportunities.
  • Try Hort 30th April : Focus on Level 7 course and opportunities.
  • Try Hort 28th May : Focus on PT Level 5 and 6  and school leavers for the Summer.
  • Try Hort 25th June : Focus on all courses.
  • Try Hort 16th July :Focus on all courses.

Our current students are all taking their courses online and when the restrictions are eased we hope to resume our practical activity in the normal way. In the meantime stay safe everyone.
