12th Infogest Webinar on Food Digestion

12th Infogest Webinar on Food Digestion, focusing on “Lipid Digestion”.

The next INFOGEST Webinar on Food Digestion will take place on the 1st December 2021. The theme of the webinar is “Lipid Digestion”.  It will feature guest speaker Professor Julian McClements from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, who will present on “Utilisation of the INFOGEST method to test the efficacy of vitamin and nutraceutical delivery systems”. The webinar will be hosted by Dr André Brodkorb of Teagasc Moorepark. The moderators will be Dr Anabel Mulet-Cabero and Dr Myriam Grundy, both from Working Group 4 of the INFOGEST network, which specialises in lipid digestion.

Professor Julian McClements is a Distinguished Professor at the Department of Food Science at the University of Massachusetts. He specializes in the areas of food biopolymers and colloids, and in particular on the development of food-based structured delivery systems for bioactive components. 

INFOGEST is an international network with the aim of Sharing Information on the Digestion of Food. INFOGEST was created under a cost Action [FA1005] and has evolved into an open network of scientists from both academia and industry from over 45 countries. The aim of the network is to improve the current scientific knowledge on how food is disintegrated during oral, gastric and intestinal digestion.

The Infogest Webinar Series on Food Digestion began in September 2020 and is held on the first Wednesday of each month. Each month, speakers from academia and industry present their latest research on the topic of food digestion. The series will continue in the lead up to the next International Conference on Food Digestion 3-5 May 2022 in Cork, Ireland.

The webinar will be livestreamed on the INFOGEST YouTube channel.
