Developing Rural Ireland in the Twentieth Century

Teagasc and the Social Sciences Research Centre (SSRC) at NUI, Galway are hosting an online event on Thursday 17 February at 4pm.

The event will showcase the recent landmark publication on Irish agricultural and rural history, Developing Rural Ireland, and will also feature a panel discussion between five pre-eminent researchers and writers in the area of Irish agricultural and rural history.

The event will be chaired by Dr Tony Varley, Social Sciences Research Centre (SSRC), NUIG.

The agricultural and rural history of Ireland has been of central importance to the Irish story and Teagasc and the SSRC are delighted to host this event as a platform to promote both new understanding of this history and to demonstrate how an understanding of this history is crucial to making the right decisions in contemporary policy-making.
