Supporting decision making on agricultural input reductions in lettuce production
19 April 2021 19 April 2021Venue Online workshop
Researchers at Teagasc, Universities of Warwick and Sussex are working to develop data – based decision support for growers wishing to find strategies for meeting the EU green deal requirements on agricultural inputs whilst minimising food loss. Field-grown head lettuce is being used as the exemplar crop in the development of a proof-of-concept tool.
An online workshop will be held on 19/04/2021: 10:00-14:00 and 20/04/2021: 10:00-14:00. Participants from the lettuce growing and research community in Ireland and the UK are invited to attend the workshop in order to give quantitative estimates for elements where data are not available.
Structured Expert Judgement is a validated method for this task. The workshop will offer an opportunity for participants to be part of the development of a web-based tool and engage in discussions on the effects of strategies for reducing inputs during lettuce production.
