Teagasc, Nua na Mara and Údarás na Gaeltachta are organising a 4 part Marine Resources Programme. This programme focuses on utilising the resources in the marine sector, such as seaweed and fisheries by-product to generate value added products beyond food and feed applications.
World Class researchers, experts and industry personnel will deliver these informational sessions to those of you with an interest in the circular blue economy, new value added products and applications, and waste to value applications.
This series occurs online for 3 sessions and a final session will be held at Teagasc Ashtown, where participants will have the opportunity to tour the facilities.
The first webinar on Thursday, 27 October at 2pm will include:
- Dr Runar Gunar Solsted, NOFIMA –Utilisation of marine co-products from aquaculture and fisheries industry in Norway.
- Dr Diane Purcell Meyerink (Teagasc) – Aquaculture of Kelp species and opportunities for industry: From marine farm to fork.
- Dr Pamela Walsh (QUB) – Greener solutions in algal biotechnology with steps towards a more sustainable algae-based bioeconomy.
