This webinar on Wednesday, 3rd March at 7pm will focus on:
Sustainable Soil Health Management in Vegetable Production
This meeting will focus on the specific challenges for field vegetable production on soil health. It will help growers understand how they can measure soil health and what they can do to protect and improve soil health on their farm.
Dermot Forristal, senior researcher at Teagasc Oak Park, will discuss ‘The impact of mechanisation/cultivation systems on soil structure and crop performance in arable/vegetable rotations’
Mark Plunkett, Teagasc Soils specialist, will discuss ‘how you can measure and improve the health status of your soil’
The panel will also be joined by Agronomist and farm manager David Thomas from Riveira Produce in Cornwall in UK who will talk about how the cultivation technique of ‘Strip Tilling’ is been widely adopted in the production of brassicas and other vegetables on their farm.
