The Teagasc Professional Diploma in Dairy Farm Management leads to a UCD award and was introduced on foot of specific recommendations made in the Food Harvest 2020 Report. James Ryan, co-ordinator of the Teagasc Professional Diploma programme strongly recommends the programme for those wishing to develop a career in managing their own dairy farm, as a dairy farm manager, or seeking to develop a dairy partnership. The programme provides invaluable professional work experience on top commercial dairy farms. Participants are also exposed to the latest thinking in dairy technology, dairy farm management and farm business planning. There is an opportunity to gain experience overseas if participants wish.
