Ministerial Farm Walk in Support of ‘Farm Safety Fortnight’
Ministers Simon Coveney T.D., Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Ged Nash T.D., Minister for Business and Employment will take part in a Farm Safety Walk to support the national ‘Farm Safety Fortnight’ which is to run from the 13th of April for 2 weeks.
The Farm Safety Walk will take place on Tuesday, 14th April at 3.30pm on the farm of Andrew Purcell and Alf McGlew at Grangebellew, Termonfeckin, Co. Louth. The Ministers, recognising the many serious hazards faced by farmers on a daily basis, will highlight the importance of farm safety as the busy outdoor work season gets underway which often coincides with an increase in accident levels.
The Farm Safety Walk and demonstration will be facilitated jointly by the Health and Safety Authority and Teagasc. Farmers are cordially invited to attend the launch of ‘Farm Safety Fortnight’ and farm walk to hear how they can ensure that safety becomes integrated into their enterprise.
