Tommy Cooke Reappointed to Teagasc Authority

Mr Tommy Cooke, upon the nomination of the ICMSA, has been reappointed to the Teagasc Authority by the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Micheal Creed TD. Tommy Cooke has served a five-year term on the Teagasc Authority and has been reappointed for a second term.

Tommy Cooke is from Renaghmore, Grange, Barna, Thurles, County Tipperary and is a dairy and beef farmer. He is a member of the national council of the ICMSA. He is a former chairman of the ICMSA’s dairy and rural development committees. He has an interest in renewable energy and is chairman and founding member of the Irish Wind Farmers' Cooperative Society Ltd. known as Meitheal na Gaoithe and is currently a board member of Tipperary Energy Agency.

Mr Cooke brings a wealth of indigenous knowledge, encompassing experience, skills, insight and foresight to the appointment.
