Grassland Farmer of the Year: Regional Winner Farm Walk

Michael is the 2018 Regional (South) Grassland Farmer of the Year. Based a stone’s throw from the Rock of Cashel, Michael farms with his wife Karen, and together they run a 150 cow spring calving herd with a very high stocking rate on the milking platform. The herd is outstanding in terms of genetics and one the highest EBI herds in the country. The stand out grassland performance on their farm is the soil fertility of which they nearly received almost full marks.
