Tomás is the 2018 Sheep Grassland Farmer of the Year. The O’Leary family is farming 41.7 ha and 26 ha are allocated to the sheep enterprise. Output on the farm is 938 kgLW/ha and 78 kgLW/ewe. The sheep enterprise is a 100% mid-season lambing flock and Tomas aims to operate a very simple system, maximizing the amount of quality grass in ewes and lambs diets.
