Barry O'Sullivan's farm in County Meath has been impacted by the current dry weather. Barry gives an overview of the management decisions he has had to make to manage grass and cow performance

In early May grass growth on Barry O'Sullivan's farm in County Meath reduced to 55kg Dm/Ha/day. Due to the continuing dry weather the growth rate subsequently dropped to 37kg DM/Ha/day. Barry gives an overview of his farm and explains that due to the decisions that he has made to date he has kept grass cover, kept grass in the diet, and the performance of the cows hasn’t dropped.
