On Thursday, 5th August, John Douglas and Joseph Dunphy, Teagasc Grass10 and Micheal O'Leary from PastureBase Ireland were joined by with David Brady, Heavy Soils farmer and John Galvin, Dry soils farmer to discuss building grass for an extended grazing season.
August is a critical time for grazing management, and many farmers believe it is the beginning of the grass year. This is because the plans put in place in August will impact grass availability right through from now until the beginning of the 2nd rotation next year!
John Douglas & Joseph Dunphy from Teagasc Grass10 and Micheal O'Leary from PastureBase gave an overview of the benefits of building grass, what the targets are for your farm and how to build it! The panel were also be joined by David Brady, Heavy Soils farmer and John Galvin, Dry soils farmer who gave their own experiences on how they improved their farms.
