Farm Business Options Webinar - Irish Farmers Connecting to the Grid
Type Event Proceeding
On a recent Farm Business Options Webinar, which took place on Tuesday, 26 January, host, Barry Caslin, Energy & Rural Development Specialist, Teagasc was joined by Grainne Blount, Natural Forces; Tom Marren, Astatine and Rory Mullan, MullanGrid Consulting to discuss the options for Irish farmers connecting to the Grid.
On-site generation of renewable electricity has become an element of many farming businesses across Europe. To encourage deployment of green technologies, Ireland has introduced RESS incentive to encourage early adopters while making the prospect of producing electricity to feed directly to the grid an attractive one to those with reasonable resources and access to a grid connection.
Barry Caslin, Energy & Rural Development Specialist, Teagasc was joined by a panel of experts to discuss the options for micro-generation, community projects and large scale options for the Agri-industry to produce and sell renewable electricity whilst de-carbonising electricity production in Ireland.
