
Working together for sustainable farming: agri-environmental policy, practice, and experience

This seminar which took place virtually on Wednesday, 3rd March 2021, focused on policy and policy implementation for supporting greater collaboration between farmers, advisors, scientists and policy makers. Speakers discussed the importance of such initiatives in working toward more sustainable agricultural systems
The seminar included presentations from Inge Van Oost, policy officer with the European Commission; Dr Katrin Prager, Senior Lecturer at University of Aberdeen; Henry O’Donnell, Project Coordinator of the Inishowen Uplands EIP Project; Alex Datema, Chair of Farmers for Nature in the Netherlands; and Dr Jack McCarthy, Post-Doctoral Researcher with Teagasc working on the Renew2050 project.
Margaret Murray, from the Department of Agriculture, Food and Marine (DAFM), and Mary Mulvey, Sustainability Consultant, provided commentary on the presentations.
