The Dairy Calf to Beef Ten-Point Action Plan has been developed in support of Food Vision 2030'. It identifies actions that can be undertaken at farm level, on both beef and dairy farms and at processing level that will ensure optimal calf health and welfare, and will facilitate
greater uptake of dairy calf to beef systems.

Key stakeholders in the dairy and beef sectors gathered in Portlaoise on January 18th, for a seminar on dairy calf to beef and to launch a consultation process on an action plan for the dairy beef industry.
Dr. Nicky Byrne, Dr. Ellen Fitzpatrick, Dr. Paul Crosson, Jamie O’ Driscoll and Alan Dillon presented at the event.

The action plan has been developed in support of Food Vision 2030, in particular Action 1 - Promote greater integration of dairy and beef sectors especially in relation to the production of beef coming from the dairy sector and Action 13 - Develop and support dairy beef systems - of Mission 2 – Goal 1 - Viable and Resilient Primary Producers, with Enhanced Well Being.
