A. 5 Span Calf Shed Designed for 170 Calves
This shed is an excellent example of calf rearing facility which is designed with efficiency and calf welfare. The shed design means that it can easily be cleaned out and bedded throughout the season. It has a dedicated heifer rearing area with automatic calf feeders and two large pens designed to manual feed bull calves. The time and effort that went into the design and build of this shed really shows in the final result.
B. Calf Shed 1
5 Span Calf Shed for 75 calves with automatic calf feeders, single pens and bark mulch external pad. Also included is a 7 span calving shed.
C. Calf Shed 2
8 Span calf shed fitted with 2x 4 station automatic calf feeders. Individual penning for young calves. Easy access for cleaning out and with well-designed natural ventilation.
D. Calf Shed 3
This tour shows a retrofit of haybarn and lean-to which was converted to install a two station calf feeder. Single pens have been incorporated for young calves.
E. Calf Shed
This shed is designed for a four station calf feeder and 120 calves. The rear of the pens has access out to a training paddock and also allows for easy access with fresh straw.
F. Calf Shed 5
This calf shed was originally designed for use with a 12 teat feeder has been converted over to a four station automatic calf feeder. The shed is a simple lean-to design and the rear of the calf house opens onto a training paddock for calves.
