Introduction to Organic Dairying

Many dairy farmers in Ireland are contemplating alternative farming systems that offer increased lifestyle benefits and operate with a lower environmental footprint on a whole farm basis. Organic dairying can offer farmers such an alternative.

If you wish to explore further what organic dairying can offer for you and your farming system, then this 4 day course will attempt to answer the many questions you may have.

Course commences on Thursday September 26th at 11am to 1pm

Day 1 & 2 will be online on Zoom. Day 3 & 4 will be on existing organic dairy farms

Day 1: The basics of organic dairy production

Day 3: Farm visit to a spring calving herd in Waterford

Wednesday, 2nd October  |  11am – 1pm  |  Waterford     

Day 4: Farm visit to a split calving herd in Laois

Friday, 4th October  |  11am – 1pm  |  Laois     

This course will not replace the requirements to complete a 25 hour Organic Farming Principles course for farmers participating in the Organic Farming Scheme
