Advice & Training
Teagasc through it’s Food Research Centres in Moorepark, Fermoy and Ashtown, Dublin, the Rural Development Centre in Athenry and it’s network of offices throughout the country can offer a range of advisory and training options in the food sector.
The production and preparation of food is the most traditional of all domestic activities and our kitchens have demonstrated high levels of skill in the development of indigenous food products.
It is our belief in Teagasc that these skills can be channelled into successful business ventures.
Firstly we must ask ourselves a number of questions;
- Do you need to supplement your income
- Could you set up a food enterprise
- Do you have a business that requires further development
- Can you give added value to something being produced already
To this end Teagasc staff have produced an excellent guidebook ‘From Concept to Completion’ – a roadmap for food entrepreneurs, which was developed specifically to help answer these questions and assist you in bringing your ideas to market.
