Teagasc Crop Agronomy Webinar - Tuesday, May 4 | 11:30am

Teagasc researchers, specialists and advisors discussed strategies to controlling weeds, disease and pests on crops from around the country. The webinar looked at cereals, beans, and beet and also how to get the best from the plant protection products used on your farm.    

The topics on the webinar included:

  • Getting the best from Plant Protection Products:- Protecting the environment while spraying; Nozzles and drift reduction; Managing your chemical store
  • Crop Agronomy update:- Winter crops agronomy – crops across the country
  • Beet agronomy:- Coping with the loss of herbicides
  • Bean agronomy:- Achieving effective disease control; Key agronomic decisions for the coming weeks
  • Spring barley agronomy


Teagasc Crop Agronomy Webinar - Tuesday, 6 April

This webinar covered the major agronomy decisions needed over the coming weeks in winter and spring crops.  Researchers, Specialists and advisors were on hand to answer questions throughout the webinar.

Topics covered include:

  • Disease control in Winter Wheat and Winter barley including yellow rust control
  • Spring barley weed control           
    • Resistant weeds, wild oats, and annual meadow grass control
  • Trace Elements and their importance for tillage crops
    • Manganese, Magnesium, Zinc, Copper and Sulphur


Teagasc Crop Agronomy Update - Tuesday, 9 February  |  11.30am

Teagasc researchers, specialists and advisors updated growers on crop agronomy for the coming weeks.  Advice on nitrogen, P&K, weed control, PGR and disease control were discussed. The first event covered crops from across the country including the following:

  • Winter barley (hybrid and conventional
  • Winter oilseed rape – early season agronomy
  • Weed control in winter crops  – Grass weeds and difficult to control broadleaves
