Teagasc photo competition: "Celebrating Our Forests"

We are delighted to launch our forest photo competition, "Celebrating Our Forests", which will run over the months of October and November, 2020. "Celebrating Our Forests" is an ideal opportunity to capture and record some of the many benefits provided by well-planned forests. It is a great opportunity for budding non-professional photographers of all ages to get snapping today and be in with a chance to win attractive prizes.

The overall winning prize is valued at €1,000.

Competition format

Forests can provide us with wonderful settings to connect with nature in these challenging times. Forests can also be a haven for wildlife and plants. The current autumnal colours on the trees may provide an ideal opportunity to capture great views.

Teagasc looks forward to viewing your forest-based photograph(s).

The format for the "Celebrating Our Forests" competition is as follows:

  • The competition will focus on four different forest themes over four consecutive fortnightly periods.
  • At the end of each two-week period, the winner for that theme will be chosen and is guaranteed a prize of €250 in vouchers.
  • Each winner will also go forward to a Grand Final on 8 December 2020, when the overall competition winner will be in line for a further €750 in vouchers, bringing this prize up to €1000.

To kick off the competition, the first theme, 'forest landscapes', will run from 2 October to 15 October (see table below). Suitable digital forest landscape images can be submitted by email up to 5pm on 15 October 2020.
