Webinar: The New Forestry Programme - New Opportunities for Forest Creation

Teagasc in conjunction with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) hosted an information webinar on Tuesday, 26 September to promote the exciting forest creation opportunities that are available in the new Forestry Programme 2023 - 2027.
The webinar was chaired by John Spink, Head of Environment, Crops and Land Use Programme in Teagasc.
Minister of State Pippa Hackett delivered a keynote address on the New Forestry Programme 2023 - 2027 and the opportunities that it will provide for new woodland creation.
Professor Frank O'Mara, Teagasc Director outlined the importance of afforestation to Irish agriculture and how Teagasc is supporting the new programme.
Tom Houlihan, Forestry Specialist with Teagasc and Robert Windle, Forestry Inspector with the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine highlighted some of the key elements within the programme and outline opportunities for tree planting at farm level.
A questions and answers session took place at the end of the webinar which was facilitated by Liam Kelly, Teagasc Forestry Advisor.
