Clonakilty Agricultural College
Clonakilty Agricultural College, located 3 miles from the picturesque town of Clonakilty in West Cork was established in 1905 and has become renowned as a center of excellence, over the past 100 years, for the provision of agricultural training. Our location which is set amongst some of the most intensively farmed areas of southern Ireland, makes it a perfect backdrop for agricultural education.
Our mission, is to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to achieve their ambition to embark on careers in agriculture.
In Clonakilty College we are committed to supporting our students in achieving their personal goals. Our state of the art lecture theaters, computer suites and student practical rooms, along with the college farm and our highly experienced staff ensure a very positive and enjoyable learning experience for our students.
Having the three strands of Teagasc (Education, Research & Advisory) on our campus, strengthens our ability to incorporate all these elements to give our students a more comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
Career possibilities stemming from agricultural courses (QQI level 5 - Level 8) are now very diverse and there are many opportunities available. Graduates of our courses not only return to careers in farming but may also progress to other sectors within the agricultural industry - professions in advisory/education, Co-Operatives & private agricultural businesses. The opportunities are very varied.
