Food Innovation Gateways - Assuring Food Safety & Maximising Shelf-life and Prepared Consumer Food Open Day - 14 June 2019, Teagasc, Ashtown, Dublin 15
Optimal shelf-life is an essential requirement for all food products. A shelf-life that satisfies consumer expectations, facilitates export and minimises wastage is reliant on excellent food safety and consistent quality. Moreover, recent consumer demand coupled with legislative requirements prevents the application of chemical preservatives thus requiring excellent hygiene during primary production and processing.
This event, which includes the Prepared Consumer Food Centre Open Day, will present the latest concepts and technologies to help food companies meet the triple challenge of food safety, shelf-life and consistent quality. It will provide an opportunity for one-to-one discussions and knowledge sharing on the current challenges, solutions and technologies available.
Food Innovation Gateways is part of the Teagasc Food Technology and Knowledge Transfer Strategy to support Irish food companies. The initiative promotes opportunities for the food industry to engage with Teagasc more easily, to exploit opportunities arising from our research outputs and to access our know-how, expertise and infrastructure in a more efficient manner. Research is recognised as the path to innovation and commercialisation.
