Demonstration Farmers

Signpost demonstration farmers are located all around the country and are from dairy, beef, sheep, tillage and mixed enterprise farms. Participants in dairy joint programmes, the Green Acres Calf to Beef programme and the Teagasc BETTER Sheep farm programme are involved. Teagasc research, college and demonstration farms are also included. 

National Farm Survey (NFS) recorders are currently engaging with the demonstration farmers to explain the process of collecting physical and financial data. The data will be gathered throughout the year to allow for the preparation of a set of financial statements and a Sustainability Report at the end of each year. In this way, we will be able to track progress made in terms of:

• farm performance
• farm profitability
• environmental indicators including total emissions, emissions per hectare, emissions per kilogram of product etc.
