The Tullamore Show is Ireland’s largest one-day show, averaging 60,000 visitors in recent years, with 700 trade stands from agri-sectors, home industries, farm produce, forestry, innovation, agri-machinery and much more. Every year the Tullamore Show attracts the best cattle, sheep, and equine breeders from all over the country, alongside entrants for its other 1,000 plus competitions.
Explore the Forest Village
Don’t miss the Forest Village at the Tullamore Show! Organised by Teagasc’s Forestry Development Department, over twenty organisations and companies will showcase many facets of Ireland’s farm forestry and renewable energy sectors in Tullamore.
Farmers and other landowners who are considering forestry and woodland creation can receive up- to-date information on the current highly attractive supports under the Forestry Programme 2023 – 2027. These include 12 Forest Types available under the Afforestation Scheme and scenarios under the new Native Tree Area Scheme.
Attractive options include, for example, creating an agroforestry plot, a commercial conifer forest, a riparian forest to protect water quality or a native woodland; or if you are at forest management or thinning stage, you will be able to find comprehensive practical and financial advice from organisations such as Teagasc, DAFM and a range of forestry companies.
Teagasc’s forestry advisers and researchers will be on hand to answer all your forestry queries. This is a great opportunity to avail of comprehensive, objective and up-to-date information. Free information packs will also be available.
If you have questions regarding renewable energy then do visit the Forest Village; latest technologies on solar panels, hi-tec boiler systems and efficient firewood stoves will be on display with plenty of complementary information sources.
