Fertiliser association visit Clonakilty College & Timoleague

Members of the Fertiliser Association of Ireland visited Clonakilty Agricultural College in county Cork on Thursday June 7th. In the morning, they heard the latest findings on the on-going research into clover use in pasture-based farming systems that is being conducted at the college and also got an opportunity to check the grass-clover mixtures in practice. This was followed by a visit to the nearby Timoleague catchment in the afternoon. There, they were given updates from agricultural catchments programme researchers and technicians. In addition to the water monitoring wells and kiosk at the outlet, they visited the fertiliser response trials that are located in the catchment. Research and learnings from the programme were presented and strategies discussed for best incorporating into farm practice.
