Dr Alberto Ramos Luz, who is leading research projects to support the development of the apple growing industry in Ireland features in this episode of RTE's science show, 10 Things to Know About.... Alberto, a Research Officer in the Horticulture Development Department at Teagasc, based in Oak Park, explains: “In the episode, we showcase our research supporting the Irish apple industry by selecting varieties suited to Ireland, improving tree management for efficiency and quality, and aligning agronomic performance with consumer preferences. Our goal is to provide more profitable ways to grow apples in Ireland and increase the availability of high-quality Irish apples”.
