Enda Keaveney - Dairy Farm Partnership


Enda from County Galway is in a dairy farm partnership in with his parents since 2015. He studied construction first and then the recession hit Ireland. They are farming 120 cows. Find out more about the Keaveney's and their experience of the New Entrant Network - Newbie.

Enda Keaveney farms in partnership with his parents in Co Galway. In 2015 the Keaveney farm was at a cross roads, substantial investment was required in the milking facilities. The decision to invest was dependent on the future of the farm. Having returned from New Zealand, Enda entered discussions with his parents and it was decided that a Family Farm Partnership would be the best route to secure the farms future.

New Entrant Network - Newbie

Sustaining a cohort of new entrants is crucial for the agricultural sector and rural regions in Europe. New entrants bring innovation and entrepreneurialism, as well as practical skills and networks. However, new entrants face considerable challenges in entering the sector. The newbie network will address the challenge of enabling new entrants to successfully establish sustainable farm businesses in Europe.
