Managing forage brassicas

This week’s OviCast podcast features Mark Dolan to discuss the different aspects of managing forage brassica crops.

The yields of different crops, along with the utilisation rates and the factors affecting utilisation, are discussed. He also highlights how management at Teagasc Athenry is adapted to manage crops during poor weather conditions. 

To conclude, Mark touches on lamb performance and kill out rates on different crops, and the impact regular drafting has on the number of grazing days.
